How Things Have Changed…

As a child growing up in a middle-class family, my parents rarely took us on holiday.  I can count on less than one hand the number of vacations we took but one thing was always predictable. Those very few times our family went away, always occurred in summer.  Summer meant road trips and visiting family.

The thousands of hotels Hospitality Designs has supplied enjoyed this predictability too. Whether in Alaska, Texas, Louisiana, Seattle, New York, or LA, each of these hoteliers knew their clients, and were able to predict with reasonable accuracy what their occupancy would look like.

Yet, COVID changed the predictable and turned it on its head.

Much like our clients, the team at Hospitality Designs was sideswiped by the impact of COVID. By offering great quality product, designers who pushed the envelope, and partners who worked with our clients to exceed expectations, we thought we could count on a consistently growing clientele whose orders would keep the business growing while allowing us to invest in ourselves.

Then one day the world paused.  People stayed home and only the most critical businesses stayed open. Travel was the furthest from people’s minds. Many hotels closed their doors. Paying bills, mortgages, rent, utilities, and staff became critical. Upgrading properties were put on hold, new build hotels were delayed, and financing ground to a halt.

But this is not the great depression.  In the short time since COVID, every day we hear more positive developments regarding mitigation, development, and protection.  Yes, we are not there yet, but we are well on our way.

What does that mean for our clients?  Occupancies have slowly increased, competition has returned, and investments in improvements are paramount to each property’s long-term success.  At Hospitality Designs we are here to support them.  We have worked on creative financing models to assist clients in achieving their occupancy and ADR goals. Our recent investments in manufacturing technology keeps our product competitive and offer amongst the best Anti-Bacterial case goods in the market. We are ready to design opportunities with an eye to raise occupancy and ADR, and bring success for our clients’ future.

As my dad used to say, its not the number of vacations he took us on that was important, it was how memorable each of them was. Hospitality Designs can help you create memorable guest experiences.
